The SHIELD Helicarrier Gets a 2026 Overhaul

LEGO has officially revealed 76354, a new version of the SHIELD Helicarrier set launching June 1 2026. It has been over a decade since the original 2015 Helicarrier and the 2026 version comes with 3,057 pieces, six minifigures and improved accuracy to its movie depiction, all for $399.99.

The original 2015 set was a landmark in LEGO Marvel history, the first time the Helicarrier had been given a serious display-grade treatment. The 2026 version builds on that foundation with better proportions, more accurate movie detailing and a stronger minifigure lineup.

At 68cm long and 30cm tall on its display stand, this is a substantial model. It will need dedicated shelf space or a display cabinet, but for serious Marvel LEGO collectors, having the Helicarrier as a centrepiece is worth the footprint.

Minifigures: Six Characters Including Some Long-Awaited Inclusions

The six minifigures in 76354 are: Winter Soldier, Captain America in Stealth Suit, Phil Coulson, Maria Hill, Hawkeye and Nick Fury. That is a strong lineup that covers both the primary Avengers crew and key SHIELD personnel.

The Stealth Suit Captain America is notable for a specific reason: it is the first time a non-zombie version of the character has included arm printing. That level of figure detail is meaningful to collectors who track minifigure variations across sets.

Maria Hill also receives arm printing, continuing LEGO Marvel's recent trend of adding more detail to secondary characters who previously had simpler figure treatments. Phil Coulson's inclusion is a fan-pleasing call given his popularity in the early MCU.

How the 2026 Version Compares to the 2015 Original

The 2015 Helicarrier (set 76042) was 2,996 pieces. The 2026 version at 3,057 pieces is slightly larger but the bigger difference is in design philosophy. The new version prioritises movie accuracy over abstract impressionism, resulting in proportions that more closely match what appears on screen in The Avengers.

The 2015 original was praised but acknowledged to be an approximation of the ship rather than a precise replica. The 2026 update uses the decade of LEGO design advancement to close that gap.

From a value perspective, the inflation-adjusted 2026 equivalent of the 2015 set's original price lands around $480, making the $399.99 price tag for the updated version a reasonable deal by comparison.

The Build Itself: Expandable Runway and Bridge Detail

Key features include an expandable flight deck and runway, giving the model a functional element beyond pure static display. The bridge interior includes display studs for placing the included minifigures in scene, which elevates it from a prop to a diorama.

A display stand is included, which is essential for a model this size. The 30cm height on the stand puts the ship at eye level when displayed on a standard shelf, making the deck and runway detail visible rather than just the bottom of the hull.

A comic book tile is also included, stickered rather than printed, as a nod to the Helicarrier's comics origins alongside its film incarnation.

Should You Buy the 2026 Helicarrier?

If you own the 2015 version, the answer depends on how much the improved movie accuracy and the minifigure upgrades matter to you. The core model concept is the same, but the execution is demonstrably better in 2026.

For collectors who missed the 2015 set, the 2026 version is the definitive version to own. There is no reason to track down the original now that a superior successor exists at a comparable price.

At $399.99 this is a major purchase, but in the context of display-grade LEGO Marvel sets, the Helicarrier is one of the few that has genuine mass cultural recognition beyond dedicated collectors. It is a recognisable centrepiece that communicates clearly to any Marvel fan who sees it.
